The WizCom SuperPen is a hand-held text scanner and language translator.

Scan and Translate: The SuperPen comes with over 30 downloadable language dictionaries - absolutely free! These enable users to scan full lines of text, receive instantaneous word-by-word translation and hear scanned English words pronounced aloud. By changing dictionaries as needed, users easily become fluent anywhere in the world. Integrated Text-to-Speech technology enables users to pronounce new English words with confidence. These and other SuperPen Voice features have made this product the reading tool of choice for students and travellers alike.

Scan, Store and Transfer: This function enables users, on the go, to capture essential printed data anytime, anywhere. The product can store over 1,000 pages of printed text, to be transferred to a PC, PDA or any Windows application at leisure. Users working with their computer can scan printed text directly to an archive cursor point. Collected data can be transferred to any Windows based applications seamlessly.

This is the same product as the SuperPen Translator which is sold in the USA.

Pre-installed Dictionaries:
The pen will hold 2-3 dictionaries at any time. Please note a dictionary is in one direction, i.e. French into English.

Reading Pen Plus Translator (Oxford Dictionary)~ The Reading Pen Plus (Oxford Dictionary) is an upgraded version of the Reading Pen above and has all the same features. As well as being a reading aid this pen also has the functionality to language translate and capture text which can later be uploaded to a computer.~

The Reading Pen Plus (Oxford Dictionary) is an upgraded Reading Pen. As well as being a reading aid this pen also has the functionality to language translate and capture text which can later be uploaded to a computer.

The Reading Pen gives someone the independence to read on their own. Scan over a typed word & instantly hear it aloud with built-in speaker(headphones also included). The portable pen is especially designed for people with reading difficulties such as Dyslexia.

The Reading Pen features the Concise Oxford English Dictionary, containing over 240,000 words and definitions, hundreds of new words and phrases. The Pen has a British digital voice which can turn any text into speech.

The Reading Pen scans a word or line of text, displays the scanned words in LARGE characters on the LCD screen, pronounces the scanned word(s) & reads the definition out loud.

At the end of the session you can review the words you had difficulty with as the pen stores the last 80 scanned words.

The Memory Extension Kit (MEK)

• The 4MB Memory Extension Kit (MEK) inside the pen is a multi-purpose upgrade flash card. The MEK increases the Pen's memory capacity, enabling you to:
• Add various WizCom applications to your existing product.
• Add dictionaries to your product.
• ReadingPen users will be able to add additional dictionary databases to their product and/or upgrade the Pen with QuickLink applications (Notes, Address Book, Internet Links, Tables, Scan to PC) in order to scan, store and send data to the PC.

The three basic steps for installing the MEK are:

• Installing the new memory card.
• Upgrading Pen - adding QuicktionaryII or QuickLink functionalities.
• Adding components (e.g., dictionaries or add-on applications).
• Please note that with the 4MB MEK will enable you to carry one or two one-directional dictionary databases (one bi-directional dictionary) on your Pen at once. You may, however, acquire as many dictionaries as you like and store them on your computer, so you can easily change the languages on your Pen at any time.
